My Top 5 Directors

What’s up everybody? Ethan here and for this page I will be posting my personal top 5 favorite directors of all time. Feel free to disagree with me below in a comment.

Paul Thomas Anderson

In my opinion he is the greatest American filmmaker working today. Although he was only made five feature length films, each has been a unique experience packed with incredible characters. Some of his films include: “Boogie Nights”, “There Will Be Blood”, and “Magnolia”

His Best: “There Will Be Blood”

Martin Scorsese

One of the greatest filmmakers of the 70’s through the 90’s, Martin Scorsese has created multiple masterpieces, each with its own personal flare. Some of his films include: “Taxi Driver”, “Goodfellas”, and “Raging Bull”

His Best: “Taxi Driver”

Stanley Kubrick

In my opinion the greatest director of all time, Kubrick managed to release great film after great film from the 60’s through the 90’s. One of the greatest characteristics of Kubrick as a director and a writer is that he was a master of character creation. From HAL in 2001 to Pvt Joker in “Full Metal Jacket” he managed to create characters that stuck with you. Some of his films include: “2001: A Space Odyssey”, “A Clockwork Orange”, and “Full Metal Jacket”

His Best: I’m not entirely sure.

Quentin Tarantino

A great modern director, Tarantino includes an energy in his films that is unmatchable by almost any other filmmaker today. Some of his films include: “Pulp Fiction”, “Reservoir Dogs”, and “Inglourious Basterds”

His Best: Reservoir Dogs

The Coen Brothers

Able to transfer from comedies to dark thrillers, the Coens are two “jack-of-all-trades” directors. Their ability to create scene ranging from hilarious to incredibly disturbing (sometimes within the same movie) is incredible and flawless. Two top-notch filmmakers. Some of their films include: “Fargo”, “The Big Lebowski”, and “No Country for Old Men”

Their Best: “The Big Lebowski”

Don’t hate at the fact that they all are American filmmakers. I love me some foreign films but so far none of the directors that I have seen have been some of my favorites. Although the closest would be Guillermo Del Toro. Otherwise enjoy the list and post your opinions below.

Thanks for checking out the page.

Yeah, sorry about there only being two directors so far. I was only be able to write up two real quick before I had to do something else but I will be finishing it later today. Hopefully you stick around to see them.
